When you arrive at Termini station, gateway to Rome, you are already in the Esquilino quarter. On display here are structures and artefacts from an area of the Horti Lamiani (Lamian Gardens), a sumptuous private residence dating back to Roman times surrounded by lush gardens.
The tour winds around the remains of a large square with a nymphaeum, where the decorations that adorned it, the objects that were used here, and the plants and animals which once filled the gardens can all be seen.
